List Of Upcoming Movies In 2012

The coming time in 2012 is anticipated for many reasons, with the prominent ones being those related to the Apocalypse myth. Also the year 2012 is anticipated for the amazing upcoming Hollywood flicks, which is also the hot topic for this post.

Movies are the best pastime that at the same instance prove to be quite informative, interesting and entertaining. The upcoming anticipated movies this year are keeping up with the preset trends and are mainly sticking to the category of prequels, sequels, super-heros, and re-envisioning classic fairy tales etc.

With the likes of Leornado DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Will Smith, Liam Neeson etc starring in dream projects, by some legendary directors like Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Nolan etc this year is sure to set the pulse racing of ardent movie enthusiasts like me.

Expendables 2

Directed By: Simon West Starring: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Liam Hemsworth, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger Release Date: August 17, 2012 If you thought that the 2010 original 'Expendables' was the best performance that such a big unique action star cast could manage, think again because they're back with the sequel after a year gap and expect nothing less from the likes of legendary veteran actors as they promise an even better performance this time around. Van Damme joins the roster as the main villain while Chuck Norris plays a character named Booker. Sadly, Stone Cold and Rourke won't return for this sequel. Watch HD Trailer:

Men In Black 3

Directed By: Barry Sonnenfeld Starring: Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin, Nicole Scherzinger, Rip Torn, Emma Thompson, Alice Eve, Jemaine Clement Release Date: May 25th, 2012 The MIB franchise return with a 3rd part of the Hit series a full decade after the 2nd Part (Sequel) and an astonishing 14 year gap from the 1st Part (Original). Not only will this one be in 3-D, but it will also have time-travel. So watch the movie for the Hit lovable duo of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. Watch HD Trailer:

SkyFall

Directed By: Sam Mendes Starring: Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris Release Date: November 9, 2012 The highly awaited, officially 23rd James Bond movie titled 'SkyFall' is already gathering people's attention. Daniel Craig playing the 007 Spy for the 3rd time looks good to deliver yet another awesome experience. With the talented 'Javier Bardem' playing the role of the villain, If his performance is anything like his turn in "No Country For Old Men", we should be in for a real treat. The title SkyFall "has some emotional context which will be revealed in the film." Hopefully in the form of a suggestive double entendre. Watch Trailer:

The Bourne Legacy

Directed By: Tony Gilroy Starring: Jeremy Renner, Edward Norton, Rachel Weisz, Joan Allen Release Date: August 3, 2012 The 4th Movie of the 'Bourne' franchise, this one is the first one without the exceptional Matt Damon. It appears Jeremy Renner will play the lead with Edward Norton of Fight Club fame as the villain. From the trailers you somehow don't see Renner as the Bourne character Damon played, so it makes sense that he's playing a completely different character. Maybe a more fiery forgetful secret agent is what would interest everyone. Watch HD Trailer:

Directed By: Oliver Megaton Starring: Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace, Famke Janssen Release Date: October 5, 2012 The first flick took in $226 Million on a budget of about $26.5 Million along with $68 Million more in DVD sales. That automatically means sequel. Legendary actor Liam Neeson of "Schindler's List" fame again plays retired CIA agent Bryan Mills, who now is in Istanbul where himself and his wife are taken hostage by the father of a kidnapper Mills killed while rescuing his daughter in the Original movie. Snow White And the Huntsman

Directed By: Rupert Sanders Starring: Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Ian McShane, Lily Cole Release Date: June 1, 2012 This classic fairy tale movie is also amongst the famous upcoming movies of 2012. Charlize Theron will be seen playing the famous negative role of 'Queen Ravenna' and Kristen Stewart of Twilight fame playing the coveted role of Snow White. This is one of 2 Snow White flicks coming out in 2012 - the other being "Mirror, Mirror", which is a comedy while Huntsman is gritty action. Django Unchained

Directed By: Quentin Tarantino Starring: Leornado DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Samuel L. Jackson, Sacha Baron Cohen, Kurt Russell, Jamie Foxx, Don Johnson Release Date: December 25, 2012 This movie is highly acclaimed director "Quentin Tarantino's" next project with likes of Leornado DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Samuel L. Jackson etc in lead roles. Django played by Samuel Jackson with the help of his mentor, a slave-turned-bounty hunter sets out to rescue his wife from a brutal plantation owner. Supposedly, this is the first role where DiCaprio plays the antagonist. Quentin Tarantino + Leornado DiCaprio as a villain = WIN (Blockbuster) ! Watch Official HD Trailer:

Amazing Spiderman

Directed By: Marc Webb Starring: Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Denis Leary, Sally Field Release Date: July 3, 2012 This Spiderman flick is the first without the familiar face of 'Tobey Maguire', the relatively new actor 'Andrew Garfield' is filling his shoes in this installment, with Emma Stone being the female lead. This "reboot" comes out 5 years after the not much acclaimed Spiderman 3, the trailer got knocked for ripping off Mirror's Edge. Webb's directed a ton of cool music videos and 500 Days of Summer, but let's see if he can handle a blockbuster. Watch HD Trailer:

World War Z

Directed By: Marc Forster Starring: Brad Pitt, Bryan Cranston Release Date: December 21, 2012 World War Z has already become quite an anticipated movie of 2012 for some, maybe because of the unique genre that it is portraying. While some calling it a sequel to the Will Smith starrer 'I Am legend', this one is a Brad Pitt starrer who certainly needs no introduction. This post-apocalyptic tale follows a UN employee who interviews survivors of the Zombie apocalypse. AICN called it, "a genre-defining piece of work that could (have) us all arguing about whether or not a zombie movie qualifies as 'Best Picture' material". It's also been compared stylistically to Children of Men. Watch Trailer:

The Dark Knight Rises

Directed By: Christopher Nolan Starring: Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Anne Hathaway, Tom hardy, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Morgan Freeman Release Date: July 20, 2012 'The Dark Knight Rises' is certainly one of my personal most awaited movies of 2012, after the tremendous success of the original 2008 movie 'The Dark Knight'. Versatile actor 'Christian Bale' yet again plays the savior of Gotham City, and the beautiful and talented 'Anne Hathaway' will play the role of Cat Woman. The movie starts Eight years after the events of The Dark Knight, Batman must return to face Bane and figure out what's up with Selina Kyle (Catwoman). Watch HD Trailer:
